As a reporter you’re tasked with moving the story from the general to the specific, at least when journalism was an honorable profession.
Example:
General: Traffic accident Specific: DUI: More Specific: Three DUI convictions Very Specific: Never any jail time Bingo: Brother-in-law is assistant DA.
You get the point. But for the second time in 150 years (in fact, as of this very year) we are now engaged… “in a great civil war, testing whether that nation, or any nation, so conceived and so dedicated, can long endure.”
Now, as then, the battle lines are clearly drawn, but the general-to-specific rule is of no use in conducting this asymmetrical war against our domestic enemies; it’s far too time consuming, convoluted and complex.
We, I, get lost in the minutiae
I believe that at this late moment, after decades of what Mark Levin calls “the soft tyranny”, we are far better served moving from the specific, let alone the micro, to the general, and there draw our lines in the sand.
With the election of Barack Hussein Obama–The Manchurian Candidate–stands as stark proof that the union/socialist/communist cabal successfully pulled the trigger on its half-century-long plan to destroy America.
There is no benefit for us to review what lead to this moment, than there was for commander of Fort Sumter, Maj. Robert Anderson, to ask “why are they shooting at us?”
Our enemies no longer just whisper revolution, they proclaim its success and rub our noses in it… and they march on, now under the guise of the federal government; we on the other hand, sit around debating the merits of someone named Huckabee and a charlatan named Trump.
If this is what we call counter-battery fire, we might as well run up the white flag and join the ranks of the mind-numbed robots responsible for this fifth-columnist who surrender our nation without firing a shot.
Our Constitution is undermined, assaulted, ignored and is in such weakened condition, that I truly fear for this nation.
Thus, we must move away from the specific… Soros, SEIU, NBCABCCNNNPR, global warming/wealth redistribution, unions…. to the general: take stock… where do we stand, now, right now?
Left:
Cradle-to-grave welfare/entitlements, ACLU, union-run propaganda mills know as public schools, murdering babies in the womb, wide open border, secular humanism, a leviathan government and a government-run news media, one-world government, an elite ruling class which makes millions as “public servants”, while one half us pay for the other half’s free ride.
Right:
An unfettered free market, iron-clad individual rights, small/limited government, God, the strongest military in the world, respect for all life except that of our enemies, a vigorous, non-political, agenda-driven press, a swift reduction of limitations on the Second Amendment, strong nuclear families and the sanctity of marriage, impenetrable borders,
These are just a few of the paramount differences, but they are enough; in what country do you choose to live?
Well, even this question comes too late doesn’t it? Read the two categories again and see which country you actually do live in. Do you like that country, want to stay in that country, or do you want to fight to save this one?
Are you prepared to start over again as did our Forefathers? “When in the Course of human events it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God entitle them….”
It’s much easier this time… it’s all written down for us, and if it’s not in the Constitution, its amendments, or the Bill of Rights, we don’t do it; we cannot do it.
Just as importantly, we pledge we will not do it.
As far as I’m concerned, there is only one American of national prominence who is speaking plainly, in general, about core American values and how we must immediately return to Real America by defeating both our foreign and domestic enemies.

On Obama as a leader:
“What you continue to see is a third world dictator-like arrogance, that’s what I saw in that speech [by Obama] last week. And look, Laura, to borrow a phrase from Reverend Jeremiah Wright, the chickens are coming home to roost.”
“This whole talk about shared prosperity–that really gives me the goosebumps because I’m starting to believe that a community organizer is nothing but a low-level socialist agitator.”
Our national defense:
“Rep. Allen West (R-FL.) became irate at a town hall meeting when Nezar Hamze, Executive Director of the Council for American Islamic Relations (CAIR) South Florida chapter, asked him to name the passage in the Quran that commands Muslims ‘to carry out attacks against Americans and innocent people.’
West brushed off the criticism — and told Hamze not to “try to blow sunshine up my butt.”
West was quick to tell Hamze the Quran was written long before America even existed and that it does indeed tell believers to kill infidels. He then proceeded to chronicle a lengthy list of historical Muslim acts of aggression.
Congressman West concluded his argument by mentioning the Fort Hood shootings and 9/11 attacks, saying “I’ve been on the battlefield my friend” and told Hamze to “put the microphone down and go home.”
and:
“The military exists to win the nation’s wars and I think when we get to the point where we are starting to discuss about how the military conforms to accommodating individual behavior that’s what I get concerned with.”
After joining 58 other Republicans — nearly a quarter of the new majority — in rejecting House Speaker John Boehner’s budget cut proposal:
“I think my (GOP) leadership needs to probably sit down and have a come-to-Jesus with themselves,” said West, a freshman Republican, adding that the latest budget was simply a “raindrop in an ocean.”
On the 2012 election:
“I say anyone who wants to step up and be a leader in this country, this is a critical time. This is not a time for any jokes, games or gimmicks, and I hope he is very serious.”
Cut the canned speeches, the concessions, the cave-ins, the hands across the aisle, the McCainRommneyHuck has-beens; stop the yesterday and the used to be.
The is war, now and full-on; there is no debate.
Victory favors the bold…. but we have yet, at this late date, to land the landing force.

Lt. Col. Allen West is exactly what we need to stare down Obama.
Herman Cain is also attempting to get a footing out there among the Hucks, the Romneys and all the rest of the ‘also rans’.
Some bloggers have suggested that Michelle Bachmann may make a good Pres.

West on the action in Iraq for which he was courts-martialed (later reduced to Article 15):
“I sacrificed my career for my soldiers and that’s the bottom line.”
“Nobody likes a whiner. You make the decision, you stand by it and take responsibility for it and you accept the consequences and you move on with your life.”
Sounds like a leader to me.
Question, did he retire due to the courts-martial, or the article 15 ?
At any rate, it appears that he stands by his principles.

I know what country I live in today and I darned well am aware of where I’d rather be and where I would like my grandchildren and great grandchildren to be. This is why I fight. This is why I too stand by Congressman & Lt. Col. Allen West.
Three years ago, I informed many in my community that Barack Obama IS NOT THE ONE.
Today, I inform the same people many of whom feel betrayed while others remain in the dark that this man Allen West, IS THE REAL DEAL.

Excellent post–excellent points. We are at a turning point in this country. It makes me sad–and angry–that my 13-year old son doesn’t know the freedoms we’ve already lost–though we always remind him. Thankfully, there are good patriots both in government and not, that are working to turn this country back to our original principals and restore indiviual freedoms and responsibility. Rock on!
