Behind dem party closed doors, at Starbucks, in yoga classes, newsrooms, Whole Foods, MoveOn.org, and inside many, many closets… the lefties hate and are scared to death of Texan Rick Perry.
There are many reasons the left hates him but the main reason is that they hate Texas and anything about or from Texas; you can’t be less Washington DC, New York or Massachusetts than Texas. Naturally, all Texans are armed to the teeth and we carry, including our governor; that may be the best thing about him. Like the death penalty… we have guns and we use them.
You might say we are the anti-effett East Coasters, or in Superman’s Bizzaro World, New York would be in Luckenbach…. where “everyone can be somebody.”
They ridicule they way we speak and the language we use. To them “colorful” is akin to “moron”. They hate Rick Perry just like as much as they hate George Bush, despite the fact they know not a damned thing about the governor…. he’s from Texas and that’s enough.
They hate “the swagger“. To them, all of them, “W” swaggered and now they are knocking Perry for his swagger. I’ve broken down all the available film and I cannot discern a swagger in either Texan. But they immediately saw Perry’s: A Google search of “swagger Rick Perry” just now yielded 1,140,000 results in 0.12 seconds.
They include this: NPR Gets Complaint Letters for Mocking Rick Perry’s Christian Swagger
Once in high school it got back to me that someone I knew didn’t like me because “…. he walks likes he is conceited.”
Other than pimps I’m not sure I know what a “swagger” is; John Wayne (as much a Texas icon as any visual image or persona) had a distinctive and much imitated walk, but I certainly wouldn’t call it a swagger.
In either man what the left was/is reacting to and which is understandably foreign to them is the alpha male; it’s not a swagger… President Reagan liked building fence and chopping wood, “W” liked mountain biking and clearing brush on his ranch in God-forsaken Texas.
Abe Lincoln actually did split rails.
Because the left is ruled by metrosexuals such as Jimmy Carter, Obama, John Kerry, Bawney Fwank, and Janet Napolitano… their mind-numbed clone supporters have no quintessential alpha role models like Reagan, Bush and Perry. Their confusion is understandable.
They only tolerate Willie Nelson of Abbott Texas because he is stoned all the time and supports UFO experts like Dennis Kucinch.
They hate meat, especially beeves and pigs… wood smokers, fried okra, grits, guns, God, patriotism, the military, John Wayne, Western boots, Chevy half-tons, that we don’t golf, Texas football, that we arrest illegal undocumented democrats, beautiful women, armed women, women who will kick yer ass women and just about any chick with a bust size over 34 C.
In short, Texas is the most “American” of all the 57 states, so naturally they despise Texas.
And here in addition to the academic elitists, the brain-washed youth, Hollywood, half the corporations, unions and teachers and the
news media left-wing media, WeaselZipper reports:
AP sanitizes Perry remarks to undercut his base:
“No, I don’t support a fence on the border,” he said at a townhall, while referring to the long border in Texas alone. “The fact is, it’s 1,200 miles from Brownsville to El Paso. Two things: How long you think it would take to build that? And then if you build a 30-foot wall from El Paso to Brownsville, the 35-foot ladder business gets real good.”
What Perry actually said and wasn’t reported was, that he supported “strategic fencing” and National Guard troops to prevent illegal immigration and violence from Mexican drug cartels.
Yet AP reported: The answer produced an angry shout from at least one audience member. And it exposed an ongoing rift with some conservative voters over Perry’s immigration record.
There was no angry shout from the audience. That’s what one audience member said. Via Instapundit:
A BLOG REPORT FROM RICK PERRY’S SPEECH IN NEW HAMPSHIRE: “I attended that event, stood about 15 feet from where he delivered those remarks and never heard an ‘angry shout’. Either the AP is making it up or it wasn’t much of a shout. Perhaps they can supply the audio.”
Doubt it…. he’s a poor boy from West Texas.
