The train on the bridge on the tunnel on the freeway to nowhere………

(News Item):  A strong majority of California voters against bullet train project just as Gov. Brown pressures the Legislature to green-light the start of construction, poll finds.

This kind of left-wing, pie-in-the-sky public transportation , enviro-whacko debacle has always fascinated me. It’s not so much the utter stupidity of liberal voters on all subjects, but how easy it is to fool them and how they never, ever… ever learn. Try the same thing a decade later and they’ll support all over again.

“Mister Barnum… which way to the Egress?”

Less than four years ago voters approved $9 billion in bonds for construction under the Ponzi Pretense that the train would cost only $33 billion and be financed primarily by the federal government and private enterprise.

But transportation experts at the time said the 500-mile “bullet train” from San Francisco to LA will cost more than $100 billion;  Gov. Moonbeam then walked it back… and said that  it would be just a mere $68 billion.

But not so fast:

  • Right now California has $12.3 billion in pocket, $9 billion from the state and $3.3 billion from the feds, but Jerry is $43 billion short and has no idea in hell where he’ll get the rest.

The first leg of Jerry’s Folly will be installed between Merced and Fresno in the heart of the San Joaquin Valley’s agricultural lands, where I grew up a desert rat. I graduated from Fresno State and worked in Merced; to drive that distance at 75-per takes about one hour and ten minutes.

The Left Wing Express will take you 90 minutes, and even longer and more costly when one weighs in the cabs or car rentals, and the of course the added realization that you’re subsidizing the trip with your own taxes.

The Peoples Exhibit A, Your Honor:  “Patricia Bradford, a Democrat from the Inland Empire, doubts she will ever use the train but nonetheless is a supporter. ‘They need to get people jobs. People have kids and families. They are living paycheck to paycheck. Of course, spend some money, create some jobs,’ she said.”

Patty actually believes that tax payer-fund projects boost the economy by “creating jobs”; yet the simple truth is that her tax money will go directly to union jobs and that the unions’ quid pro quo is to pay hundreds of millions to the democrats who pocket the money used to steal votes, and remain in office where they vote on the next “bullet train” project which will be funded by Patty Patty’s children and grandchildren.

A fool and her money are soon parted.

This just in:  “Central Valley farm groups filed a major environmental lawsuit Friday against the California bullet train project, while Orange County transportation leaders urged state officials to shelve the $68-billion proposal until improvements can be made to the existing passenger rail system.”

Valley Californians aren’t liberals for the most part, they are the offspring of the 1930s Depression and Dust bowl and they flooded into the valley, bringing with them the oil field skills honed in Oklahoma, Texas and Louisiana. They’re cowboys, drillers, mechanics, farmers and have the conservative, core values of Christian folks.

And they learned to turn the tables on the enviro-wackos who have cost San Joaquin Valley farmers trillions over the last 40 years:

“A preliminary injunction to block rail construction planned for later this year was requested in Sacramento County Superior Court by the Madera and Merced county farm bureaus, along with Madera County and additional plaintiffs. The project is already facing other suits, and still more agricultural interests in the Central Valley are gearing up to add to those battles.”

Porn video shot on LA Coliseum grounds

… the question is, who authorized it and pocketed the cash?

Appropriately… it’s the Trojans’ home field.

Mister Marcus, left, start of the 2001 film said, “I was just in awe that we were at the Coliseum. I’ve made movies for about 20 years and I’ve done a lot of things, but that one really stands out.… I mean, who gets to have sex on the Coliseum floor?”

Can you blame him, he can always say that that he performed on the same field as greats like O.J. Simpson, Mike Garrett, Marcus Allen, and Reggie Bush; and… has the game films to prove it.

My fellow Kern County football alumnus Fire @ Will chips in with the following: “Most coaches just use pep talks to help the team get up for the big game… ”
