(News Item): A strong majority of California voters against bullet train project just as Gov. Brown pressures the Legislature to green-light the start of construction, poll finds.
This kind of left-wing, pie-in-the-sky public transportation , enviro-whacko debacle has always fascinated me. It’s not so much the utter stupidity of liberal voters on all subjects, but how easy it is to fool them and how they never, ever… ever learn. Try the same thing a decade later and they’ll support all over again.
“Mister Barnum… which way to the Egress?”
Less than four years ago voters approved $9 billion in bonds for construction under the Ponzi Pretense that the train would cost only $33 billion and be financed primarily by the federal government and private enterprise.
But transportation experts at the time said the 500-mile “bullet train” from San Francisco to LA will cost more than $100 billion; Gov. Moonbeam then walked it back… and said that it would be just a mere $68 billion.
But not so fast:
- Right now California has $12.3 billion in pocket, $9 billion from the state and $3.3 billion from the feds, but Jerry is $43 billion short and has no idea in hell where he’ll get the rest.
